Government fails to satisfy on rail delay compensation

Baroness Scott of Needham Market yesterday sought an answer to the difficulty in using compensation vouchers issued by Train Operating Companies. Currently, National Express East Anglia makes it impossible to use them when booking tickets using the internet, an increasing common means of purchase.

For the Government, Lord Adonis indicated that this was a matter for the Train Operating Companies, although he hoped that they would encourage the use of vouchers as the compensation scheme was rolled out.
